Ontario Support Groups


Registration information for clients of HSC:


  • For all groups, please register here: https://contactme.cloud/form/huntingtonsociety
  • To register for a specific group, please select it from the drop-down box titled “reason”
  • Groups are listed in alphabetical order by name
  • Links for virtual meetings or specific address details will be sent following registration
  • If there is no registration deadline listed, you can register anytime!
  • If you’ve attended a group before and the facilitator knows you’re returning, there is no need to register again. We are expecting you!

1) East Central Ontario Persons Living with HD Support Group 

  • Second Wednesday of every month, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET 
  • September to June 
  • Facilitated by Stephen Martyn (MSW, RSW)

2) East Central Ontario Carers Support Group 

  • First Wednesday of every month, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET 
  • September to June 
  • Facilitated by Stephen Martyn (MSW, RSW) 

Delivery: Virtual  

Who is this for? Carers of persons living with HD 


3) Ottawa and Area Carers Support Group (Ottawa, Prescott-Russell, Leeds Grenville and Renfrew County)  

  • Third Wednesday of the month, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ET 
  • September to July  
  • Facilitated by Kim McMullin, (B.A. Psych, BSW, RSW) and Muna Young (BSW, RSW)  

Delivery: Virtual  

Who is this for: Anyone who cares for someone with HD. Being a caregiver does not necessarily mean living with someone full-time. Caregiving is a role that changes over time. As HD is a multi-generational disease, caregivers might find themselves supporting various members of their family at different stages of the disease (at-risk, pre-symptomatic, symptomatic, and end-of-life). All are welcome 


4) Belleville and Kingston Area Carers Support Group (Frontenac, Hastings, Lennox Addington and Prince Edward County)  

  • Second Tuesday of every month, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET  
  • September to July  
  • Facilitated by Kim McMullin, (B.A. Psych, BSW, RSW)  

Delivery: Virtual  

Who is this for: Anyone who cares for someone with HD. Being a caregiver does not necessarily mean living with someone full-time. Caregiving is a role that changes over time. 5) Ontario Carers Support Group 

  • Thursdays, monthly from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET 
  • October 16, November 13, December 11, January 15, February 12, March 12 (tentative), April 16, May 14, June 18 
  • October to June 
  • Facilitated by Rozi Andrejas (MSW, RSW) 

 Delivery: Virtual 

Who is this for? Carers of people living with HD in Ontario 


6) Southwestern Ontario Carers Support Group  

  • Third Monday of every month, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET 
  • September to June  
  • Facilitated by Brooke Hurley (MSW, BA, RSW) 

Delivery:  Virtual 

Who is this for? Caregivers in Southwestern Ontario  


7) Northern Ontario HD Community Support Group 

  • Second Tuesday of every month, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. ET 
  • October to June 
  • Facilitated by Sarah Lachance (M.A., RP) 

Delivery: Virtual 

Who is this for? HD Community – people at-risk, gene positive, or who have an HD diagnosis and their caregivers/family members 


8) Thunder Bay HD Community Support Group 

  • 2-3 times per year – dates to TBC 
  • September – June 
  • Facilitated by Sarah Lachance (M.A., RP) 

Delivery: In-Person 

Who is this for: HD Community– people at-risk, gene positive, or who have an HD diagnosis and their caregivers/family members  


9) Niagara Carers Support Group 

  • Once a month, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET, on the following Thursdays: 
    • September 18
    • October 16
    • November 13
    • December 11
    • January 8, 2026
    • February 5
    • March 5
    • April 2
    • April 30
    • May 28
    • June 25
  • Facilitated by: Muna Young (BSW, RSW) 

Delivery: In-Person (St. Catharines) 

Who is this for? Anyone who cares for someone with HD. Being a caregiver does not necessarily mean living with someone full-time. Caregiving is a role that changes over time. As HD is a multi-generational disease, caregivers might find themselves supporting various members of their family at different stages of the disease (at-risk, pre-symptomatic, symptomatic, and end-of-life). 10) Hamilton/Halton HD Community Support Group 

  • Once a month – to be confirmed by the facilitator upon registration. 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET 
  • September to July  
  • Facilitated by: Muna Young (BSW, RSW) 

Delivery: In-Person (Burlington) 

Who is this for? HD Community and family – people at-risk, gene positive or who have an HD diagnosis and their caregivers/family members 


11) Ontario Persons Living with HD Support Group – FULL

  • Thursdays, monthly from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. ET 
  • Oct. 23, Nov. 20, Dec. 18, Jan. 22, Feb. 19, Mar. 19, Apr. 23, May 21 
  • October to May 
  • Deadline to register is Sept. 5 
  • Facilitated by Rozi Andrejas (MSW, RSW) and Brooke Hurley (MSW, BA, RSW) 
  • This group is FULL

Delivery: Virtual  

Who is this for? Persons with HD in the mild to moderate stage of HD progression who would like to learn more about HD and discuss strategies with a focus on living your best life with others who “get it”. Ontario residents only
