Welcome to Huntington disease (HD) Awareness Month 2025! Although every month is an important time to raise awareness about Huntington disease, each May we come together to offer a concentrated effort of education, community spirit and hope. This May, we have great initiatives designed for the month and look forward to you joining us. Whether you participate in a fundraising event, have a conversation about HD, or take in Light It Up 4 HD, your efforts are part of a national movement to achieve a world free from Huntington disease – thank you!
Huntington Heroes National Walk: Join the Huntington Heroes across Canada for the National Walk to raise funds to support our HD community. This May we are joining together in a united goal to walk 4000 km and raise $175,000 towards research and support services. There are a variety of in-person walks throughout the month or if you’re participating virtually, we are encouraging all participants to walk with us on May 24-25. Remember, when you donate before June 30, your dollars are doubled thanks to a match – double the research! Double the care! And double the impact!

Light It Up 4 HD: Our beloved annual tradition is back! Every May, buildings and structures around the world light up in blue and purple for HD and Juvenile HD. Not only do the buildings look beautiful, they also make great talking points. Take a trip to look at the sites lighting up near you and make an outing of it! Invite some friends, take a few photos, and have a chat about HD.
