Volunteer

Our strongest assets are our dedicated volunteers. 

HSC was built by volunteers and continues to thrive because of their ongoing support. Across the country, we have over 150 leadership volunteers, plus many more supporting our events, fundraising, and awareness.

As an HSC volunteer, you can look forward to the opportunity to develop new skills, meet incredible people, and have the satisfaction of making a difference in your community and across Canada.

Different positions in a chapter

There are so many ways you can be involved including:

  • Increasing awareness about HD
  • Advocating for the needs of people affected by HD
  • Raising approximately 1/3 of our annual revenue through fundraising events
  • Helping virtually or in-person at our National office with fundraising, social media, website design, events assistance and more

HD Coalition for Patient Engagement (HD-COPE)

  • International collaboration between the Huntington Society of Canada (HSC) and the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA)
  • Advocating for incorporating the patient voice in global therapeutic development efforts for HD
  • The group’s role is to communicate the HD community’s experiences and needs to regulators, industry and researchers
  • If expediting the discovery of new HD therapies by ensuring the patient voice and the burden of HD is clearly understood during clinical trial protocol design is important to you, please consider volunteering and reach out to research@huntingtonsociety.ca
