In Memory of Bruce Haig

Bruce Steven Haig, in his 70th year, passed away peacefully from Sharon’s loving embrace into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa.  Bruce bravely lived with Huntington’s Disease since being diagnosed in 2009, and he fought the fight for many years.  His calm demeanor helped him live with grace and happiness during his life while battling Huntington’s disease.  Bruce had a beautiful light that shone for all to see, especially the staff at St. Patrick’s Home.  He had love in his eyes and heart for his wife and for many to feel and embrace even during his last days.

Bruce was born in Ottawa and lived most of his life in the nation’s capital.  Former OC Transpo driver, and Brinks driver. Predeceased by his parents Dorothy and Robert Bruce Haig.

Bruce leaves behind his wife Sharon Haig, 24 years of marriage, and their dogs B. Happy and Harmony.  He leaves his brother Peter Haig and his two daughters Shannon and Olivia Haig.  Also, many long-time friends from public school and many people in their original Alta Vista neighbourhood and for the last 19 years in Deerfield Village, in Ottawa
