JOB POSTING: Events Coordinator
(Full time temporary, 8 month contract)

The Huntington Society of Canada (HSC) is a leading Canadian charity dedicated to a world free from Huntington disease (HD). Our passionate and collaborative team is in search of a temporary Events Coordinator to support volunteers in achieving event-related goals. This position reports to the National Director of Development.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support volunteers in planning and developing events; acting as an information resource on events ideas and trends, revenue-generating strategies, sponsorship requests, lottery licenses, risk and insurance
- Achieve/exceed event revenue goals through strategic support of events and identification of new revenue opportunities
- Attend Chapter fundraising planning meetings and events as appropriate
- Prepare support materials such as e-blasts, fundraising websites, hard copy mailers, license applications, post-event reports; and in working with the Communications team, ensuring completion of materials including media alerts, print materials, and social media updates and schedules
- Support the team in ensuring the accurate tracking and shipment of an inventory of promotional products for community events
- Manage internal documents for tracking of event-related tasks and deadlines including event calendars, third party contracts, and volunteer lists
- Facilitate increased information and resource sharing between events, HSC Chapters and volunteers
- Provide administrative support for events as needed
- Compile material for Community Newsletters
- Maintaining database of Chapter Online presence, including development and training on Chapter websites as needed
- Development and execution of training and resources to support the growth and development of volunteers, with a focus on events volunteers
- Preparing supplies and shipments of supplies for the events
- Preparing content as needed to support Communications team in promotional strategy
- Developing collateral materials including surveys
- Responding to basic inquiries about events from interested parties

Specific Requirements:
- 2-3 years fundraising experience (ideally event fundraising)
- Post-secondary degree or diploma (event management or fundraising preferred)
- Proficient with the Microsoft Suite programs
- Experience with event management tools and software
- Skilled with social media platforms
- Experience working with volunteers
